Forced Treatment

• The MacArthur Foundation Coercion Study. 
• Analysis of the Scientific Grounds for Forced Treatment by Michael McCubbin, Ph.D. and David Cohen, Ph.D.  This article concludes that forced treatment is rarely, if ever, justifiable with respect to persons considered to be suffering from psychological distress or mental disorder.  This is not based upon moral arguments, but on the basis that scientific research renders almost moot the moral arguments because of the lack of efficacy of forced treatment.
