MISSION

The mission of
the Soteria-Alaska Pilot Program would be to

effectively and
efficiently treat mentally ill individuals within the
|
|
|
Alaska community
with a quality and cost effective program that
|
|
|
demonstrates the
effectiveness of an alternative to acute
|
|
|
hospitalization
and which allows them more choice and flexibility in
|
|
|
the initial
stages of their illness than a traditional hospital program.

use a community and milieu recovery model as the

|
basis of a
program to meet the needs of those Alaskan who would
|
|
|
respond to such
an individualized approach to the treatment of their
|
|
mental illness,
that if proven as a model will provide an additional
|
|
|
choice/option for
effective treatment.
