• Protection and Advocacy System v. City of Albuquerque, August 5, 2008, decision by the New Mexico Court of Appelas that the City of Albuquerque's outpatient commitment law was invalid because it conflicts with state law (pre-empted).
• After defeating proposed legislation for a "Kendra's Law" forced drugging in the community in the New Mexico Legislature in 2006, there is a proposal for the City of Albuquerque to adopt an ordinance to do so.
