The project is designed to allow Trust beneficiaries to use the court system to expose and reduce unwarranted forced psychiatric drugging in a way that will create positive change. Providing vigorous legal representation to certain beneficiaries facing forced psychiatric drugging can be a key element in creating extremely positive change by creating the necessary incentive to the system to provide alternatives. As a residential environment for a population of 50 MH consumers and their families, we would like to underline the tremendous need addressed through the PsychRights organization. Inevitably, legal help is necessary. It is so important to MH consumer's that the help they seek is available in a welcoming, competant, and (most important) peer support environment. PsychRights provides this. Having had the privledge of using these services, several Ionia residents have been protected and supported. We hope that the Trust takes the high road and funds this growing, important organization. We will all benefit. Sincerely, Barry Creighton, President, Ionia Inc.
