Drug Free Treatment Centers 4-13-02

There is no guarantee they will totally eschew drugs but they seem negotiable on the issue-in contrast to most. They are not necessarily Soteria-like except in their humanistic orientation.  And, there may be many others of which I am not aware. Loren Mosher

Behaviorally oriented, use meds, but quite interpersonal.  Not sure about their ability to be off meds.  Generally treat long-term system veterans.

There are Soteria-like facilities/teams in Finland and Sweden.  Mostly they have opted for in-home family crisis intervention (the need adapted model from Finland-Alanen et al) with a residential setting only used when families can’t handle crises with help.

Here are others complied by Seth Burton using the following criteria:

A) Used community as a healing tool

B) Focused on healing as opposed to fixing

C) Did not seem to need to label spiritual realites as unreal

D) Where spiritual values were a spoken part of their program:

Cottonwood House- a short term (expensive) place... had some real holistic stuff going on... one of their current clients is a Buddhist monk. Almost went there (still might)

 Prescott House

928-776-8251

Fully 12 step based... long term care for men- sounds like quite a 12 step/recovery community

Delamo hospital 1-(800) 533-5266

Near LA (Colin Ross is the medical director)

I cringe when i hear hospital- and for a hospital they seem pretty amazing. Apparently they are the nation's "most respected" sexual addiction recovery center. They work a lot with dissociative disorders.

Life healing center of Santa Fe

1-800-989-7406

This place was my first choice- however they wanted me to go to a primary care place first. Check out their website.... I was blown away.
