I believe this problem also fall in to the hands of the caregivers! Being a foster parent for many years I have heard it all. There are foster parents that continually ask that their foster kids are \"put on meds\" to increase the amount of money that parent received. A \"medicated child\" will raise the amount of money per month a foster parent receives. (sometimes by great amounts) I've had children who have come into my house and have been weened OFF all the meds... quite often thru alot of TLC, reasurrence, counseling, and L O V E these children turn into the \"wonderful people\" they truely are. Many of these children are screeming and misbehaving for love and support. These children know the negative behavior gets attention.... as a care giver we must teach them that positive behavior reaps better rewards. \"Catch them being good\"

Kickbacks, that's the main reason its done.Just like adding new vaccines to the vaccine schedule, every year, its all about money, meanwhile the children are be devastated by these drugs!

This story is so true. I went through the training to be a foster parent. I only had one child. She came with a whole bag of prescriptions. I think she took 5 pills morning and night. It was ridiculous.
