By no means is this a complete list. Such deaths are continuing to occur with no clear indication that the military leadership will limit the availability of antipsychotics, antidepressants or prescription "polypharmacy" which can never be scientific, safe or effective. I continue to find 'new' deaths every time I have a spare hour or two to begin Googling again.

I call to the readers attention the posting of Leland Tyrone (#267) which the editor of The Gazette tells us was altered at the military's request. How common or routine are such alterations. How many of these probable SCDs have been called "suicides"? How many accidental or other multiple drug toxicities or overdoses when they are none of these things?

There can be no rational or scientific change of psychiatric drug policy in the US military until such time as there has been a full acknowledgement and explanation of these and all similar deaths in the military-FAB

160. <rajones@fpcahinesville.com Subject: Chris Jones Good morning Stan,I did receive the autopsy and toxicology report for Chris. I also spoke to Dr. Tramaine, the doctor who did the autopsy. He informed me that Chris died from being on too many meds, as well as meds that should not have been mixed. He told me that Chris lost consciousness and his heart stopped. So it is as I suspected all along. I just knew he passed due to his meds. However, the report is claiming it was an accident because Chris had had a spritzer that day at the park so they are making out that the mixture of drugs with the alcohol, the temperature at the park that day, as well as Chris being sick from the new med he had just started is what caused his untimely passing. They just don't want to take responsibility that they caused this. I would be honored to have Chris added to the list for the Senator. Thank you so much for all your efforts and continued support! The girls and I will be in Arlington this weekend visiting Chris. Hope all is well your way. Give Shirley our best as well! God bless Rachel Jones. [their dx, prob.] ……… Wayland, Patrick August 22, 2011 - After one Marine dies, his kidney saves another By Brittany Levine Los Angeles Times LOS ANGELES - Underscoring the deep bond among service members and their families, a 23-year-old Iraq war veteran has received a kidney from a fellow Marine left brain-dead after a training accident, squeezing what is normally a five-year wait into two days.As Sgt. Jacob Chadwick prepared to leave the San Diego hospital Aug. 11, hundreds of police cars and motorcycles escorted 2nd Lt. Patrick Wayland's casket through his hometown of Midland, Texas, where thousands lined the streets waving American flags."Patrick took an oath to serve his country. Few people are able to do that," said Wayland's friend, 2nd Lt. John Silvestro. "Patrick, he would consider himself lucky to serve not only his country, but his fellow Marine."Staff at the University of California-San Diego Medical Center said they were surprised by the extra effort one family put in to help a stranger."I've been doing this for 20 years and have never seen anything like it," said David Lewino, a transplant coordinator. "That whole sense of Marine family - you hear about it, but when you see it firsthand, you really believe it."By having a kidney designated to him, Chadwick was able to get off the waiting list.In October, Chadwick had an appointment to get his kidneys checked after experiencing severe headaches and dizzy spells. But that was the day his daughter, Ella Marie, was born. Chadwick put off going to the doctor, trying to enjoy his time with Ella.On Aug. 1, Wayland suffered cardiac arrest during a swimming exercise at Naval Air Station Pensacola in Florida. The 24-year-old Marine, the one friends called "Superman," would spend the next week in the hospital, his brain swelling. His family waited for a miracle. Doctors pronounced Wayland brain-dead Aug. 5."I know we have a long and hard road in front of us," his father, David Wayland, wrote in an online journal after he learned of his son's condition. 86. This is a study]By Penni Crabtree UNION-TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER May 3, 2003 The controversial herbal stimulant ephedra was linked to half the heat-related illnesses reported at Camp Pendleton in 2000 - although only 7 percent of Marines used the substance on a daily basis, a military study found. The study, based on a survey and medical data from the First Marine Division, also cites the ephedra-related death from a cerebral hemorrhage of an unidentified service member at the Point Loma Naval Submarine Base. The military study is the latest to take aim at dietary supplements that contain the amphetamine-like herb. The products, made by companies such as San Diego's Metabolife International, have been linked to hundreds of deaths, serious injuries and side effects. Earlier this week, a General Accounting Office review of thousands of consumer health complaints about Metabolife's best-selling Metabolife 356 cited 92 serious complaints, including five deaths, 18 heart attacks, 26 strokes and 43 seizures.
The Camp Pendleton study, conducted by Capt. Eric C. McDonald, a surgeon in the First Marine Division, has not been published in a peer-reviewed journal. However, the study was part of the research considered by the Navy's Surgeon General when a decision was made in February 2001 to pull ephedra products from Marine bases.[[[[[[[surely they know how to diagnose scd]]]]]]]
87. Two found dead at veterans' shelterNo foul play suspectedUpdated: Wednesday, 30 Nov 2011, 7:47 PM ESTPublished : Wednesday, 30 Nov 2011, 4:49 PM ESTLEEDS, Mass. (WWLP) - Two bodies were found on the campus of the VA Medical Center in Leeds in the last 24 hours. Both state and local police are investigating this situation with the district attorney's office. The two men were found dead in the Soldier On Homeless Shelter, which is on the campus of the VA Medical Center. One body was found at 10:30 Tuesday night. The second body was found at 8:20 Wednesday morning. According to the Northwestern District Attorney's office, the cause of death will not be known until autopsy and a toxicology report is done, but they did confirm that these were non-violent deaths and there was no foul play involved. We do not know the ages of the men, but it is likely that they are veterans because that is who this shelter serves. The VA Medical Center is a federally owned and operated facility for veterans. But, Soldier On is a non profit organization that leases this property from the federal government. Since this happened on federal property, the district attorney's office is being particularly careful with this investigation.[[[[[[[further info needed found 2 15 13 ]]]]]]]]
